Museum Model Shop

Stop by the Guild's Model Shop to watch and learn techniques from our members.
About the Model Shop Guild Members! Be a hero!
In partnership with the Maritime Museum of San Diego, the Guild administers the Museum Model Shop aboard the steam ferry BERKELEY. The Shop is manned by Guild members (subject to availability) on a volunteer basis.

The Model Shop features four separate workstations at which projects in various stages of completion can be seen. The Model Shop also includes a large inventory of modeling tools, supplies, and reference material. On slow days request a tour of this unique space harboring decades of modeling experience.

Model of the Month
Each month the Guild displays a member's completed model as the "Model of the Month"; this model resides just outside the Shop's front door for the months' duration.

The initial Model of the Month was Tom Hairston's ~1/7"=1' 1:80 scale double plank on frame model of the MARY ROSE, a carack-type warship commissioned by King Henry VIII of England.
